Ovid (43 B.C. – A. D. 17)
The very foundation of the concept of enlightenment is that an individual’s consciousness or awareness shifts very rapidly between a very energetic and dynamic quantum reality, and a less energetic, impermanent, holographic material universe. Today we are witnessing a convergence of ancient and current wisdom gained over tens of thousands of years from direct experience, regressive hypnosis, psychoactive drugs and meditative techniques. Modern physics and consciousness research is only the latest contribution to understanding of consciousness and matter.
It would appear from inner religious disciplines such as Hinduism (yoga) and Buddhism and outer disciplines involving scientific consciousness research that individual awareness resides primarily in the quantum domain. It seems that our existence in this quantum domain is punctuated periodically as we incarnate into the existing general holographic field being collectively created by us as our consciousness collapses quantum reality into holographic reality.
It is beginning to appear that it is consciousness of the observer that may be creating what now could be called holographic reality by collapsing light into particles through observation or consciousness awareness. However we do not leave the quantum domain completely in that we seem to resonate back and forth very rapidly every second between quantum reality and the illusionary perceived holographic reality. Because this action is so rapid we perceive an illusionary kind of reality as real, same as with a movie projector projecting light through single frames so quickly for us creating the illusion of reality.
We seem to resonate in and out of the holographic so- called “material universe” so rapidly as not to be noticeable unless we practice disciplines that alter our consciousness so that we do view this process. For a yogi, the proof of the doctrine is by direct experience. For instance, we can take some facts and deduce using logic the existence of an orange; but with a yogi scientist the proof is when the student or audience is able to view the orange directly so there is no doubt of its existence because it is being perceived directly.
So called “modern science” or establishment uses what is believed to be an “objective approach” to gaining knowledge while the yogis have developed a subjective science of observation and analysis coming to believe that even objectivity is an illusion when viewed from a great enough perspective. Yet even with objectivity an illusion when viewed with enough perspective, it nevertheless has allowed us to manipulate the material world very effectively so far but with trouble brewing on the horizon. While establishment science tends to mostly dismiss yogi science, I believe that both will be integrated together in the future for a technology of both matter and spirit.
As with the moving image on a motion picture screen, we don’t see the individual frames or the projector, just the appearance of the continuous images before us. In other words our bodies are avatars existing and experiencing a virtual reality field with little awareness of the structures that supports this virtual reality field. Shakespeare was correct, “All the world is a stage and we but actors on it.” As actors we experience the other actors, drama and the stage, but the backstage operations are forgotten as we focus on the activity on stage. Yet at some point in our evolution it will become necessary to leave the illusions created onstage to observe from the greater perspective how these illusions are created by what is going on backstage.
Our bodies and those of animals and plants even atoms and molecules seem to be moving in and out of, or embedded in, this overall very energetic unseen quantum reality. What seems to be happening is that individual consciousness drives the DNA, the genome, every cell in our bodies through the cell microtubules (cell infrastructure), evolving, maintaining and using a body to experience holographic reality embedded in the greater quantum reality. This is in much the same way a person drives a car with the car being no more the person, than consciousness is the body.
Scientists are learning what the shamans and mystics learned long ago through meditation, dreams, psychoactive drugs, OBEs, NDEs and extraterrestrial contact. Some suggest that DNA is also transmitting data from the material world to consciousness in the quantum domain and consciousness in return transmits information and intent back into the genome in holographic reality.
Other consciousness researchers are focusing on the microtubule infrastructure in cells where information in the quantum domain may be organizing and maintaining cell function that could be the interface between quantum existence and holographic reality. Some are suggesting that nerve cells are simply acting as amplifiers, transmitters and receivers of quantum information arising in the microtubules. This research seems to be confirming what NDE and reincarnational researchers and mystics have been saying all along that the body is a robot inhabited and derived from consciousness. More and more it appears that the perception or theory that consciousness arises from matter is an illusion the same as the mistaken belief that the sun travels across the heavens or that the earth is flat.
Dr. Stewart Hamerhof and Sir Rodger Primrose have been on the cutting edge of this new scientific theory that is able to make scientific sense out of human experience like Near Death Experiences (NDEs). Anna Hunt sums their work quite well in her article Near-Death Experiences Explained by Quantum Physicists. [24]
“Are souls constructed from the fabric of our universe? Dr. Stuart Hameroff, Professor Emeritus at the University of Arizona, and his colleague Sir Roger Penrose, a British theoretical physicist, seem to think so, and have been promoting this theory over the last 15 years. Hameroff and Penrose believe that consciousness has been a part of the Universe from its very beginning, an idea similar to the Buddhist and Hindu beliefs that consciousness is an integral component of the Universe.
Hameroff and Penrose’s orchestrated objective reduction (Orch-OR) theory states that quantum consciousness resides in the microtubules of our brain; it acts like a program inside a quantum computer. The scientists believe that this quantum characteristic of the brain forms the soul. The Orch-OR theory supports the idea that we are all one: upon death, quantum consciousness leaves the nervous system and dissipates back to where it came from – the cosmos – where it can exist, perhaps indefinitely. More about this topic is explained in my previous article, Quantum Consciousness.
According to their theory, human quantum consciousness – our soul – continues to exist after the physical functions of the body cease. Hameroff believes that during near-death experiences quantum consciousness begins to dissipate into the cosmos as the quantum processes in the microtubules terminate, but it returns to the brain once the physical body is revived. The individual may recall an out-of-body experience, seeing their dead relatives, or walking towards a light or tunnel, as a result of quantum consciousness reentering the microtubules with new information. In the video below, Hameroff explains what may be happening in near-death situations.
Hameroff’s view is harmonious with the Hindu and Buddhist concept of Karma, where thought impressions are bound to our mind or soul as a reflection of our deeds, and hence situations that we perceive as fate are actually results of our past actions, from this or another life. As the soul leaves the body upon death, it carries all of its quantum information with it as it integrates back into the Universe. All of the information and thought impressions may be once again “downloaded” into another human body during reincarnation.
As all theories, Orch-OR has its opposition, with the main objection stating that microtubule quantum states could be sustained in the environment of the brain for only femtoseconds, versus the 25 milliseconds required by Orch-OR, and thus, they are not relevant to neural processing. Nevertheless, Hameroff and the supporters of Orch-OR theory have proposed many alternatives that support the idea that quantum processing in the microtubules does in fact influence neural processing. Other research has also validated Orch-OR theory by showing that quantum processing supports biological processes such as photosynthesis, bird navigation and smell.”
What we are seeing is that all manner of paranormal phenomena previously dismissed by scientists simply because there was not a scientific theory is now open to investigation by scientists. Dr. Bern correctly points out “Historically, the discovery and scientific exploration of most phenomena have preceded explanatory theories, often by decades or even centuries.” This article points out that the paranormal experience of precognition is real and that somehow in quantum reality a conscious future event casts an unconscious shadow into the present. [25]
“A recently published study (meta-analysis) in the journal Frontiers in Human Neuroscience titled “Predicting the unpredictable: critical analysis and practical implications of predictive anticipatory activity” examined a number of experiments regarding this phenomenon that were conducted by several different laboratories.
These experiments indicate that the human body can actually detect randomly delivered stimuli that occur 1-10 seconds in advance. In other words, the human body seems to know of an event, and reacts to an event that has yet to occur. What occurs in the human body before these events are physiological changes that are measured regarding the cardiopulmonary, the skin, and the nervous system.
It’s important to note that these types of responses to future events that are measured in the body are unconscious responses, meaning that the subject (human) is not aware that they are actually taking place. So it is a form of pre cognition, but not full blown conscious premonitions.
The fact that changes in our physiological activity in the autonomic nervous system changes and prepares for future events is remarkable, and the fact that this is “unconscious precognition” should not take away from the fact that it helps us better understand the phenomenon of conscious precognition in a scientific sense. We are still waiting for science to catch up and provide an explanation for conscious precognition, regardless of whether the phenomenon has been observed or not.”
I believe I have experienced this phenomena when a young boy. I had a repeating dream where I found myself on a neighbor’s property next to our own plantation. The dream would upset me because I grew up where it was wrong to trespass without permission. In the dream I was always on this particular piece of property on our west line and nowhere else. As it turned out later in life I bought this property and lived on it later in my life.
Going even further pushing the boundaries of establishment science, some consciousness researchers like Robert Lanza are saying that rather than the physical universe giving rise to life, it is in fact life that is giving rise to the physical universe. The concept is articulated in what he calls the biocentric universe theory. [26] The article called Introducing the Biocentric Universe, states:
“This idea, introduced by the noted biologist Robert Lanza (and incorporating earlier work by the physicist John Archibald Wheeler), suggests that the information-gathering activities of living things are collectively responsible for the observed structure of the Universe, and that we continue to resolve the material world to higher and higher resolutions as we learn what the world is made of and how it works.”
“In 2007, a new theory appeared. The biologist Robert Lanza, who had already made a name for himself as a stem-cell pioneer, published his theory of the “biocentric universe” — first in the American Scholar, and then in his book Biocentrism (co-authored with astronomer Bob Berman) and an accompanying article in Discover magazine. Lanza argues that quantum mechanics and fine-tuning cannot be fully understood unless we recognize the role that life itself plays in the creation of perceived reality. In other words, the Universe takes the form that it does because we are here, and if we weren’t, it would take some other form — or possibly no form at all. We produce the Universe.
Understandably, this rubs a lot of people the wrong way. For our entire lives, we — people, animals, everything — all experience one reality, one singular course of events. We see and touch objects, and others can see and touch the same objects, confirming what we sensed. In ordinary everyday experience, there’s no reason to think that the natural world is anything but a concrete physical reality that would exist whether we were here or not — indeed, whether we were ever here. But even the most die-hard realist has to concede some truths that eat away at realism: We never sense objects in the world directly. Everything that we see is a result of our eyes detecting photons and our brains assembling an image of what those photons represent.
When we touch something solid, the solidity of the object results from the repulsive effects of electron orbitals in the object and in our hands — and we forget that even the most solid objects are well over 99.9% empty space. The fact that they are the least bit “solid” is an illusion, clearly a construction of our mind. Even the light that directly enters our eyeballs consists only of perturbations of the electromagnetic field; photons are massless things, nothing like bullets or grains of sand.”
Mystics learned they could work so called “miracles” by altering the data transfer between consciousness, matter, and energy. The mechanism of consciousness transmission into the universal hologram would seems to be through a layering technique of subtle mental-emotional extra-dimensional bodies or blueprints from the energetic quantum body right down to the most least energetic material one. This reminds me of the layering technological process involved with the creation of such things as integrated circuits.
This concept of course is not new and seems to have been worked out by yoga empirical scientists thousands of years ago perhaps even supported by extraterrestrial scientific knowledge as described in the Hindu Vedas. We have the yogic doctrine of multiple interpenetrating planes of existence or dimensions where the eternal individual interfaces with multiple bodies and energy centers (chakras) in holographic reality. We live in exciting times where our technology and science has advanced to a point to be able to quantify (numbering and measuring) what was once mostly empirical research through direct experience laid down thousands of years ago till this day. An article in the Huffington Post Science Embraces Ancient Indian Wisdom points this out well. [27]
“The dissemination of Indian ideas and practices has shaped the way we view spirituality in the West. But ancient Indian ideas have also influenced a more unlikely domain -- modern science, medicine and psychotherapy. As scientific interest in the inner experience of the individual has grown, we seem to be witnessing a meeting of the minds between Western science and Eastern spirituality. Scientific American featured meditation on its November cover, while the Dalai Lama is working with neuroscientists to study the dimensions of consciousness.
In many ways, modern science is just catching up with the wisdom of early Indian teachings, rooted in ancient Vedic texts and still pervasive in the culture of the Indian subcontinent. Today, many concepts in early Vedic philosophy have been backed up with empirical evidence. As the French Nobel laureate Romain Rolland put it, "Religious faith in the case of the Hindus has never been allowed to run counter to scientific laws."
A close cooperation between Western scientists and Eastern contemplative traditions like Buddhism (which also stems from the Vedas) can "truly contribute toward expanding the human understanding of the complex world of inner subjective experience that we call the mind," the Dalai Lama said in 2005.”
“We might think of physics and spirituality as being completely antithetic to one another, but recently, some research in theoretical and quantum physics has lent scientific support to the basic tenets of Eastern mysticism. Austrian physicist and bestselling author Fritjof Capra writes, "physics leads us today to a world view which is essentially mystical."
Here's the short story: According to Eastern metaphysics, everything in the universe is interconnected, and consciousness pervades all matter, while the view most commonly held in Western science suggests that consciousness only occurs in humans as a byproduct of physical changes in the brain. But some research in quantum physics now supports the Eastern view that perhaps mental states do not rely exclusively on material states, and therefore consciousness may exist separately from any sort of changes occurring in the physical brain. In other words, there can be non-local connections between physical and mental phenomena -- even matter that appears to be separate may, in some way, be connected.
“Quantum theory... reveals a basic oneness of the universe," Capra writes in The Tao of Physics. "It shows that we cannot decompose the world into independently existing smallest units. As we penetrate into matter, nature does not show us any isolated 'building blocks,' but rather appears as a complicated web of relations between the various parts of the whole. These relations always include the observer in an essential way. The human observer constitutes the final link in the chain of observational processes, and the properties of any atomic object can be understood only in terms of the object's interaction with the observer.”
Noted theoretical physicist David Bohm, too, came to the conclusion that there is an underlying unity to the elements that, to our limited perception, appear to be separate. "Mind and matter are not separate substances," Bohm wrote in The Undivided Universe. "Rather, they are different aspects of our whole and unbroken movement.””
One thing that consciousness researchers may be missing is that each discrete bit of consciousness in the holographic universe, be it a light wave, atom, or living thing is evolving and in competition and cooperation with other consciousness bits in the environment. While my intent being projected into the universal hologram is for a healthy body, it is also true that viruses have the intent to infect and parasitize me. Because I have an ecological background I am very aware of predator-prey relationships in nature and in human relationships.
This is just one reason that it is simplistic to think that through our intent alone we can heal ourselves, unless our intent our passion, is so strong as to override the intent and abilities of these infectious agents and other types of predators, human and otherwise. I suspect as our technology develops outwardly we may better be able inwardly to understand exactly what is going on in quantum and holographic reality in order to best prevent disease and damage to our bodies caused by predation and aging.
I think an enlightened individual develops an understanding and a balance in life by consciously focusing attention back and forth between quantum reality and holographic reality in a balanced way, mimicking what is already happening subconsciously. In a sense this is going with the flow of nature and natural process, rather than against nature. When we go against the natural flow this causes big problems for us in all aspects of our lives causing great suffering.
One of the most problematic of these is the problem of over identification or obsession with holographic reality sometimes called materialism. On the other hand an over identification or obsession with quantum (consciousness) reality can also cause great suffering also because not enough attention is being paid to the holographic reality resulting in starvation and degradation of the body and its surroundings.
This is why the Buddha stressed the middle way after suffering these extremes himself to find the balance between extremes. In the West, the problem has been to become trapped in materialism and over consumption, not spending the time necessary to gain perspective, objectivity and balance through meditation and other spiritual pursuits. In other parts of the world the tendency has been to decry and ignore holographic reality by focusing too much on quantum spiritual reality and values, allowing exterior reality to become degraded. Of course there are many who profess to be spiritualists, but who are in fact just using spirituality as a cover and pretext for predatory materialistic pursuits. J
If we really want to determine just how spiritual or materialistic a person is, just watch how they react to the death of a loved one or some other loss or tragedy in holographic reality. If the material identification is strong, the person is going to suffer greatly no matter if they try to hide their suffering or not. So we can say that a true test of a person is not what they say as to their spiritual development, but how they react and act toward gain, loss and change throughout their lives. As always we have the con artists who try to con themselves and others, to disguise their suffering, even to project it onto others through demonization.
Shakespeare was right in that we see the stage and the actors, but we don’t appreciate all the behind the scenes individuals and work it takes to create and maintain the production as it plays before audiences. If we did, we might not become so identified and enthralled with the ever changing roles we are playing, and the entrance and exit of players on and off the stage. When one practices good mental and emotional hygiene and disciplines that integrate quantum reality with holographic reality, then one becomes free from suffering and proceeds to a more enlightened state of existence.
I don’t think this process ever ends, not in this life, or even lives to come. The article Scientific Study Shows Meditators Collapsing Quantum Systems at a Distance shows very clearly how mind and consciousness can affect quantum reality using meditation techniques. [28] Modern science is just clarifying and evolving ideas that have been known by people since the early beginnings of humanity.
“We’ve written about it numerous times, it’s called the quantum double slit experiment, and it’s a great example of how consciousness can affect our physical material world. A paper published in the peer-reviewed journal Physics Essays explains how this experiment has been used multiple times to explore the role of consciousness in shaping the nature of physical reality.(1)
In this experiment, a double-slit optical system was used to test the possible role of consciousness in the collapse of the quantum wave-function. The ratio of the interference pattern’s double slit spectral power to its single slit spectral power was predicted to decrease when attention was focused toward the double slit as compared to away from it. The study found that factors associated with consciousness significantly correlated in predicted ways with perturbations in the double slit interference pattern. “Observation not only disturbs what has to be measured, they produce it. We compel the electron to assume a definite position. We ourselves produce the results of the measurement.” (1)
A number of experiments were conducted to measure perturbations in the wave function. In the first experiment, participants were instructed to direct their attention toward the double-slit apparatus or to withdraw their attention-toward a task. At certain times, a computerized voice instructed them saying: “Please influence the beam now,” and for attention away it said “You may now relax.” This first experiment was modestly in accordance with the consciousness collapse hypothesis (perturbations in the double slit interference pattern).”
What happens when this connectivity breaks down between the quantum level of existence, and holographic reality, is that an individual loses their way breaking away from the holographic and quantum social networks that supports his or her existence, a kind of social cancer. Cancer cells lose their connectivity with the other cells of the body and to their quantum source, and so by going rogue, create chaos and mayhem throughout the body. If the body’s defenses can’t destroy these rogue cancer cells, these go it alone cells, can and will destroy the body.
We can see this very same thing happening in our society past and present, where individuals, groups and institutions build a civilization, only to have it torn down and destroyed by war, terror, mass murder and other social diseases. A healthy civilization like a healthy body has defenses governed by rules and laws of order, both moral and political. As long as the citizenry as a whole is integrated enough in quantum and holographic reality, the military and law enforcement can protect the civilization from rogue criminal elements within and severe threats from without.
However, as a society ages just as with the body, corrupt special interest groups build during the rise, and in order to protect their continued survival, find themselves threatened by new creativity and innovation. These old decaying institutions attack these new social restorative elements eventually bringing down the civilization from within. Security services that once had the healthy function to protect the people become corrupt then turn on the masses at the behest of these powerful special interests.
This is exactly what happens with cancer sometimes. My sister beat breast cancer, only to have her own immune system turn on her body and attack her brain still perceiving a threat no longer there. This all makes sense once we understand that we live in a holographic fractal universe supported in much the same way as the backstage infrastructure supports and maintains the play on stage in progress.
While we still live in a primitive dysfunctional society among very dysfunctional individuals it’s hard to visualize what a fully functional, well organized, enlightened, healthy society would look like. A society where individuals remain connected to each other, on both the holographic level and the quantum level. But the template is literally under our collective noses in the way our body is organized and functions, well established and embedded in holographic and quantum reality.
If our body was organized in an autocratic fashion like our societies are organized, we would not live very long with the left hand starving, while the right hand grows fat. So if we want to be enlightened individuals living in an enlightened society, we need to understand how the body is organized and functions both in holographic and quantum reality.
Right now our society is organized much like the predator-prey food chain in nature where the strongest parts of the society dominate the weaker elements and consume a disproportionate amount of the collective resources. This resource disparity between the privileged class and the non-privileged classes causes an endless stream of popular revolutions, led by leaders that forsake the non-privileged classes once they become privileged themselves. It’s an endless cyclical construction-destruction feedback loop that will continue to hold society at the organizational level of the natural predator-prey food chain.
In my opinion we are evolving a civilization that will eventually be organized by quantum networks and supercomputers in a fashion that protects individual civil liberties and rights. Certain extraterrestrial contact cases have indicated to contact people and investigators that this is the way more advanced societies are organized. The spokespeople for the more advanced societies say they are protected from more primitive societies like ourselves autocratically organized, because like the Phoenix, when we achieve a certain level of knowledge and technology, we crash before we become too much of a threat.
Thus an advanced society and the individuals that participate are based on a quantum-holographic organizational structure that is well understood and collectively utilized, not just for space travel, but for societal organization as well. There are those that believe that earth humans, in conjunction with less advanced ET races, have advanced to the levels we are today on earth and other star systems, only to come crashing down over and over.
So it behooves us as individuals desiring enlightenment to learn to detach from our out of control, hectic, all consuming, dramatic and obsessive everyday holographic roles, dramas and plays. Disciplines that involved meditation, yoga and introspection reconnect us to quantum reality, as does the study of consciousness and the life sciences.
Let’s get back to this cyclical process of communication and movement back and forth between quantum and holographic reality. If we think about it, this shifting back and forth is not just happening in milliseconds. Every few days most of the cells in our bodies die and are replaced. Where did they go and where did they come from, are they incarnating also in and out of quantum reality? In our world we see everything being birthed, maintained and then recycled by whom or what?
What about our daily sleep and waking cycles throughout our lives when we are merging back into quantum reality in sleep to rejuvenate and gain sustenance communicating information back and forth from quantum reality? What about this even larger cycle of the birth and death of our bodies, are we incarnating bodies back and forth between quantum realities in an even larger, vaster cycle? I suspect that there may be even longer term cycles at play beyond that of the individual reincarnation cycle, perhaps a reincarnation civilization cycle and so on.
All this looks a lot like resonance or vibratory action that is so characteristic of our universe observed by both scientists and adepts. So can we say that we live a resonating existence on many levels between the quantum flux and the apparent observable holographic reality? I think so.
In order to understand fundamental complex processes within ourselves and our society it helps to go back in time where the same fundamental processes were at work. If we can understand these processes in a simpler form we can then move forward in time to study how these processes have evolved to the present level of sophistication. I have found the best way to understand a complex problem in the beginning, is to study the underlying processes from which all the complexity is derived. Once these underlying processes are understood they can be manipulated for control over and navigating properly within the complexity.
In other books that I am writing I go back to early man where human society is based on the individual and family unit with the chief, council, trader, producer and shaman being the primary drivers of primitive society. If we are to understand politics, we study how the chief and his family achieved privileged status over the rest of the society and use that for social control. If we want to understand the foundation of economics we study the trader and the producer (hunter or farmer). In this case we want to understand religion and the quantum reality as it impacts on primitive society, therefore we start with the shaman and end with today’s consciousness scientists
Once we gain an understanding of the basic process of political, economic and spiritual power, we can follow the evolution forward to today’s complex, sophisticated society where these same basic patterns determine even today the nature of our complex societies. In such a manner we gain the understanding and wisdom of how our society operates and thus we can navigate, in a fruitful and satisfactory way, today’s society.
